Destruction of Native Culture in Meghalaya through Christianity || Part 2

Rykk Banerjee LIVE with Madhu Kishwar

Rykk Banerjee is a B.Tech in Electronics and Instrumentation from Bengal. His interest in the North East arose from his family connection. His maternal uncle served in BRO. Rykk is currently working at Bosch in the automotive steering department as an engineer.

Northeast India forms a major region of Christian concentration in India today. The spread of Christianity in the northeast is almost entirely a phenomenon of the twentieth century. This expansion has continued unabated since 1951. The earliest part of the northeast to witness the expansion of Christianity was Meghalaya. This was largely because the British administrator handed over the responsibility and the budget for school education to the Christian missions.

The Hindu minority in the state of Meghalaya is being targeted and murdered by tribals ever since, bordering ethnic cleansing. This is because of the widespread hatred and intolerance against them. The Hindu Bengalis in Meghalaya are often treated as Bangladeshis or outsiders. Their voices are curbed. They are terrorized by the outrage.

BJP legislator Dipayan Chakraborty stated that numerous incidents of attacks on non-tribal people have taken place in the hill State over the years and claimed the objective was ethnic cleansing and genocide.
